Giovanni Battista della PORTA (1538-1615) CONSTRAINT : ϕ without fixing the image + projection of image onto a concave surface. INVENTION : “Speculum antimorphicus”. The distortion of the lens is annulled by projecting the image onto a surface bent “antimorphically” (a concave mirror). WORKS : Portraits. The originals are lost, but some were reproduced xylographically in his Magiae naturalis ; sive, de miraculis rerum naturalium (Naples, 1558).
