INVENTION/WORKS : an œuvre in which the representation of evil and suffering is conspicuously excluded. His book La banlieue de Paris (1949, reed. 1983) has this constraint “explained” by Blaise CENDRARS (1887-1961) in a long preface that describes life in the banlieue.
